Contract Actions Supporting Contingency Operations or Facilitating Defense Against or Recovery from Nuclear, Biological, Chemical, or Radiological Attack

This class deviation rescinds and replaces DoD Class Deviation 2003-O0002.

For contract actions supporting contingency operations or facilitating defense against or recovery from nuclear, biological, chemical, or radiological attack, the term "head of the agency" is hereby replaced with “head of the contracting activity," as defined in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 2.101, in the following locations:

  • FAR 2.101 --
    • Definition of “Micro-purchase threshold," paragraph 3
    • Definition of "Simplified acquisition threshold"
  • FAR 12.102(f)
  • FAR 13.201(g)
  • FAR 13.500(e)
  • FAR 18.2

This class deviation remains in effect until implemented in the Defense FAR Supplement, or otherwise rescinded.
