Class Deviation 2006-O0003
DFARS 252.211-7006(a), Acceptable Passive Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Tags

In accordance with DFARS 201.404, I hereby grant a class deviation to extend the final date at DFARS 252.211-7006(a) for which the following classes of passive RFID tags (considered Generation 1) will be acceptable-

  1. ECP Class 0 passive RFID tags that meet the EPCglobal Class 0 specification, and
  2. ECP Class 1 passive RFID tags that meet the EPCglobal Class 1 specification.

These classes of passive RFID tags are acceptable until February 28, 2007. After that date, only EPCglobal Generation 2 passive RFID tags will be accepted. I extended the final date to help ensure contractors are not left with large, obsolete inventories of Generation 1 tags.

Effective Date: October 16, 2006 (16 years ago)
Expire Date: February 28, 2007 (16 years ago)
