Extension of 8(a) Partnership Agreement Between the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Department of Defense

The Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) 219.800(a) describes the Partnership Agreement between the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Department of Defense (DoD), which provides for streamlined 8(a) contracting procedures by allowing DoD Contracting Officers to award 8(a) contracts directly to 8(a) Program participants. The Agreement is scheduled to expire on September 30, 2006, and has been extended through December 1, 2006, by the attached SBA memorandum. DFARS, Subpart 219.8, is in the process of being amended to reflect the extension. Until this extension is incorporated into the DFARS, contracting officers are authorized to deviate from the DFARS 219.800(a) September 30, 2006, expiration date. This class deviation remains in effect until incorporated into the DFARS.
